We needed a simple project that the kids could complete while others were finishing off their fish prints. I chose robots! The kids drew in pencil – taking inspiration from a few images I had brought along, but were basically left to their own devices. The next stage was to paint their robots in a metal/copper coloured paint before outlining the robots in black pen.
They were left to their own devices for backgrounds as well – the only guidelines were that it had to be painted in black paint and should be to do with mark making and pattern. Robots were then cut out and glued to the patterned backgrounds. All project was A3 size.
The project was a real success and I’m sure could be expanded upon for next time.
